Victoria Pelova wasn't happy about the Arsenal trip.
Reporters from NOS Sport Rivka Op't Veld, Susanne Morren, and Commentator Frank Wielaard reflected on the draw between Finland and The Netherlands in the NOS Voetbalpodcast. It's a tiresome topic, but they had to talk about another injury. Victoria Pelova grabbed her knee, and they feared she’d done her ACL.
Rivka: "We didn't know how bad it was, but it was something in her knee. Susanne" "Immediately, you think of an ACL." Frank Wielaard responded. "The first thing I thought of was; Arsenal going to Australia. After this trip, she’s immediately playing another Euro Qualification match. On artificial grass. Why?! I know why, it's about money. That's why they go to the other side of the world when the domestic league is over, for one week. For money. Pelova had to join. The results are clear: Now, she's injured."
"Pelova herself was not happy they had to make that trip at all," reminds Suzanne Morren. "You've asked her about it, right?" Rivka answers, "No, no, she definitely was not happy about it." Suzanne Morren: "This way, Arsenal is shooting themselves in the foot, 'cause they're maybe one player down." Frank Wielaard: "Depending on the injury."
It still has to be confirmed whether Pelova is badly injured or not. Today, she got a call-up for the National Talent camp to train amongst talented young players in June. But maybe these things have overlapped in scheduling, so we'll have to wait and see.
